I Got It!!!!!!

Well, I have been talking about this day all weekend! Tony Dungy was signing his new book this evening from 7-9 at a nearby Barnes and Noble. They were going to start passing out bracelets at 5 pm. They were not willing to say how many bracelets they would pass out or how many people they thought would get through the line. I spent the day at the zoo with the kids and drove past the B&N on the way home. It was 2:40 and there were already a lot of people sitting on the sidewalk outside the store. I was bummed! Mitch got home at 4:00 and said he needed a short nap. I made supper, we ate, I left for the store around 5:15. I got there at 5:45 and my bracelet number was 667 (they started at 1). I was fairly discouraged but thought I would mingle in the crowd for awhile. after the first hour they were somewhere around number 175-200 so I was pretty discouraged and left. Went to Target and then to Steak and Shake for a Strawberry Shake...yummy! Decided to go back. Sat with my next door neighbor and visited awhile. Then they announced that they were not letting any more people go through the line. The last person was around number 390:( My neighbor happened to notice a B&N employee with a cart full of Tony's book. She went and asked if they were presigned (we had heard there were some somewhere), turns out they were. They were trying to get organized but were struggling. They were going to allow people with prepurchased books to trade them for a signed copy. Long story short, somehow, my neighbor got lucky and they just swapped ours out quickly before anyone else saw. I am pretty sure that everyone else had to wait in a line or something. Nonetheless, I got a signed copy!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I came home to a dark and quiet house! What a day!

Mitch returns (along with my sanity)!!!!!!

Well, I survived the week without Mitch. It was challenging at times. Thanks to the support of some WONDERFUL friends, everyone survived and is probably better for it! Thanks so much for the late night calls Lisa and thanks for the awesome day of pampering Dionne! I also spent one evening with my friends Tiffany and Jeremy as well as quite a bit of time talking with my neighbor Marcie (she even kept Frances for me so I could weed and fertilize my flowers)!

The week couldn't have ended better. Zachary has finally gotten a longer visit with his family. He spend four hours with them today! It went well. During that time, Dionne made arrangements for a sitter to watch Frances and Brayden while we got manicures and pedicures! It was very relaxing and a lot of fun to do with a friend! I highly reccommend it! Then Dionne kept the kids for a little bit longer while I ran and got groceries. Actually, I went to Michael's and shopped the scrapbooking section! And then I went to Barnes and Noble and purchased my, soon to be signed, copy of Tony Dungy's Quiet Strength! Mitch returned home around 5:30! We are now awaiting the arrival of our weekend guests. We will spend the weekend out on the boat with Mitch's sister and her family. The evenings will be spent playing cards into the late hours. Such fun! Hope everyone else has a great weekend!

Glorious fourth?
We enjoyed having the day together as a family. Mitch went boating bright and early with some buddy's. He was able to land a flip. We didn't go out on the boat again until dark. We hung out around the house until just after supper. We went for a walk and stopped at our friends the Otts. We hung out there for awhile and watched them do some fireworks and then headed home to put Zachary to bed. Half way home it began to POUR! We definitely got wet! Zachary went to bed and the rest of us watched tv. The rain passed and darkness was arriving. We woke Zachary up and went out on the boat. The fireworks were good. Both kids behaved into the late hour. Zachary was a little afraid but sniggling seemed to make it all better. Back home and everyone went to bed. What a day!

"Lake" Fun!

We had our friends the "Lakes" spend a long weekend with us last weekend.

We had a great time hanging out on the boat, swimming in lake, playing cards, and just visiting. We also went to Conner Prairie. Here are a few pictures!
