Not for the squeamish!

One more thing we have been up to is nurturing Frances' wound. She took a fall (that seemed pretty small) while in the OB waiting room. Turns out she cut her head open pretty good. Had I taken her in right away I am sure they would have stitched her up. It is on the back of her head and hopefully she will always have hair there so it won't really matter. It is healing fine for now, we will see what happens when it is all healed! She might end up with a bald spot:)

Warm weather things

Besides the zoo and getting the boat out of storage...here are a few other springime things we have been doing!

We enjoyed a picnic in the front yard.

We loved smelling the "white flowers" on mommy's magnolia! Plus wearing fun spring outfits for the first time is always great!

After a warm rain we chased the rainbow! Frances is still asking to see it again. She thought that was pretty cool!

Frances thought it was pretty fun to play with toys that used to be her daddy's. She had a ton of fun loading the semi with her farm animals!

And lastly, Frances helped give daddy his summertime haircut!

First trip to the Zoo!

Last week we made our first trip of the year to the zoo! Frances and her good friend Brayden had a great time! The giraffes were a favorite of Frances' this year. She also really enjoyed the petting zoo with the goats. Previous years she has not been brave enough to pet them but there was no fear this year!

Shower update

Well, the shower is 100% complete! We had our new door installed last week and it is very nice! Mitch has been working when he can on the closet. It is ready for paint! The door and trim have been stained and varnished and are ready for their final hanging.

Those things could take awhile yet though because the boat is officially out of storage!

Bathroom update

Hurray! Our bathroom is now functioning! There is still work to be done but the toilet, sink and shower are all operable! Our cabinets came in last week and Mitch set this this weekend. The countertop and faucet have been installed as well! We have been getting quotes for the shower door and will hopefully decide on that soon. For now, we are using a curtain. The closet will still need to be finished but I don't see that as that big of a priority. Mitch has accoplished what I asked of him so if time/weather permit he is "allowed" to get the boat out:) The closet does need to be finished before the baby comes but that is my only request. I am in awe with all the space I have now. I am still looking for the perfect way to organize my space rather than just filling it up. Such fun! The toilet seems a little dark with the new cabinet blocking the light now but we will adapt. Who really needs a bright light shining on them while sitting on the throne anyway?

We put in a new light bar in the bathroom as well which allowed me to replace the guest bath's 80's style light with the one that was in our bathroom. I didn't have enough light bulbs but otherwise it looks pretty good!

Easter in NC

We had a great time visiting friends in NC for the holiday. Mitch unfortunately has caught some kind of illness as he has had a terrible "itch" since we returned:) Supposedly the only cure for this mystery illness is to get the boat out of storage and put it to use. Personally, I think if he is crazy enough to get in our lake the itch will be forgotten as his skin will be numb from the cold:) Guess that is the difference between love and passion!

While in NC we relaxed while the girls (Frances 3, Kasey 6, and Carlie 7) played nicely. We adults got to play our favorite card game many times and with wonderful results (the women won over 50%)! The weather was quite nice each day with one exceptionally nice day. Mitch borrowed a dry suit and went wakeboarding and surfing with his sweats on underneath (what a life). The lake was beautiful. Frances tried the water but decided it was too cold and this is coming from the girl that likes cold baths. The water temp was a mere 61 degrees.

Easter Sunday consisted of an egg hunt in the house bright and early (actually, it wasn't even bright yet, just early). We then attended a church service in the clubhouse of our friends neighborhood. After church we spent an hour and 15 minutes waiting for Frances to swallow a bite of chocolate dougnut (some of you know what I mean) and then everyone (and I mean everyone) took naps! We then enjoyed the beautiful weather some more! We were able to attempt fishing from the dock (no luck there) and France got to go for a jet ski ride with her daddy. Every time he accellerated she squealed with delight. I could hear her across the lake! Mitch also helped our friends put up their trampoline. Frances had a blast as did her daddy. This might have to be something we consider for our own yard!

Art personality test?

Well, we had our little friend over right before Easter and the girls were painting (Caelyn is 6 months younger). They were each given the exact same "palette" of paint to start. This is how they ended up. Can you tell which one is Frances'?
Pretty sad when a mom reads that much into her daughter's artwork huh?
