Growing up...

Isn't she growing up so much?????????????????????????

I can't believe she starts preschool on Tuesday!

The picture on top was taken on March 6, 2005! It is Frances!

Fooled ya, didn't we? The girls think it is funny!

The value of a dollar...

experts say it is going down but I think it is very high!

80 craft pom poms = $1.00

3 pack of glitter glue = $1.00

one hour of self entertainment = PRICELESS
(AND THE BEST PART IS THAT I CAN PULL ALL THE POM POMS OFF AND SHE CAN DO IT AGAIN TOMORROW!)

Growing up!

Frances has turned a new leaf and is now using the computer like a big girl! She is so proud to be able to do it herself. Since mom and dad got a new computer, Frances can use the old one for her games. Our friends in NC sent us a handful of kids games in the last couple of years and we are just now starting to try them out. Her favorite game so far is the Land Before Time Preschool Adventure! She is learning more about shapes, colors, letters, and simply following directions (along with the hand eye coordination of using the mouse). Her baby sister enjoys watching her!

Pictures

When my sister in law was visiting us last month she took lots of pictures of the girls. She is very good with her camera and ended up with some really great photos! Here are some of my favorites! Delaney was only three weeks old in these pictures!

Update on my babies

So we got some updates this week...Delaney had her two month check up and
  • she is 9 ponds 8 ounces
  • she is 21 inches long (or short since it only puts her at the 5th percentile)
  • she got her shots and cried but got over it very quickly
  • one of her immunizations was a liquid that the nurse said was sometimes hard to get the babies to swallow but Delaney chugged it all down great!
  • All said, she is a very healthy little girl and we are so thankful for her!

She is also doing very well with sleeping. Most nights she is in bed by 10:30. She usually sleeps until 3:00 when I feed her and then sleeps again until 7 or 8. Throughout the day she likes to eat every two to three hours. She tries to stay awake for 30-45 minutes and play with me a Frances before dozing again until the next feeding. She gets pretty gassy but is working on relaxing enough to let it all out:) Kind of funny that we want her to pass gas now but yet there will be a day when we are not so pleased with the same behavior.

I also received an update on my other baby today....Mitch had his six week post op follow up.

  • They did x-rays and think his foot is healing well.
  • He is able to start putting weight on his foot although he is not able to ditch the crutches just yet.
  • He has to start excercising four days a week on the bike or eliptical machine.
  • He also has a schedule of when to switch from two crutches to one.
  • He will continue to wear his air cast boot and will have to use an orthodic as well.
  • He will follow up with the Dr.'s again in six weeks.

An update on Frances

  • She is still loving being a big sister.
  • She is getting very good at holding Delaney.
  • She loves to try and make her smile! (her favorite way is to meow, of course)
  • She has not been a great listener lately so is working to earn "good listener tickets" each day. She can then redeem them for movies or toys that have been taken away. She also gets to do fun things with mom when she is being a good listener.
  • She starts preschool on Sept. 2nd and is gearing up for that! She will go two days a week from 9-1.

That's all I have for now! Thanks for reading:)

Blast from the Past!

This weekend we had some great times with a family from the town we previously lived in. Mitch worked with Paul and I was the nanny for the kids while I attended graduate school. It is so hard to believe that Kayleigh was only 10 months old when I started watching her! The kids are now eight and ten. Frances has been lucky enough to wear many of Kayleigh's clothes over the years and it is always fun to remember dressing Kayleigh in them too. The kids all had a BLAST playing together. They spent most of the weekend riding the tube together. They brought their tube that can have three riders so they all went together. Kim was awesome as she held Delaney all weekend and even changed her diaper whenever needed! Last night after boating, we came home and lit a fire in our new fire pit. We roasted marshmallows and had smores' along with a glass of Italian wine! That was the life! I look forward to doing that at least a few more times as fall approaches and the evenings are perfect for a fire. I told Mitch that I thought it was the perfect date so we will see if we can get the kids to bed and have an at home "date night".

Here I am with my kids! It really was awesome out in the backyard, we don't use it enough!

Even Delaney thought it was great!

I can't wait until the next time we can see them again! Thanks for driving to see us!

Fun with friends and family

My sister is in town and one night this week we spent the night at a hotel with a waterpark. We had our good friends Dionne and Brayden join us. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately the kids were not tall enough for the big slides but they loved the spash areas and the lazy river. Frances then proceeded to stay up until 12:30! She was actually the last one to fall asleep although I occasionally stirred from my slumber to tell her to get back in bed and go to sleep.
Dionne's mom also thought it necessary to bring some new toys for the kids. They had fun making Plixo's with Dionne.

Frances really enjoyed eating peanut butter and crackers in the hotel room. Not sure what happened to the crackers here.

Here is Frances in the splash pool.

Mom's night out!

Last Friday night my friends and I went to a "midnight crop" where we got to scrap book from 6-midnight. It was great! It was at a scrap booking store that had everything you might ever need when in the throws of creativity (easier to do with out hubby and kids looming). There were four of us plus Delaney. She was great. She slept in her car seat at my feet under the table most of the time. For a short while she helped Dionne work on a page.

Then she wanted her mommy back. I fed her and put her to "bed" as I would any night. She was asleep by 10:30. When I got home I just left her in the carseat in her room. I woke up to her making little noises at 6:00. Wow! I need to take her scraping more often!

Big sister

Frances just loves being a big sister. Granted Delaney doesn't look to pleased in this picture, Frances doesn't mind holding her when she cries. Frances loves to see new people and say "you haven't seen my new sister yet"

She has even helped me out by feeding her a bottle! You gotta love the age gap!
