Here is the floor in the shower! Things are still moving forward, it is just a slow pace when you do it yourself and have many other obligations during the week and weekends. Mitch plans to work on it some more tonight while Frances and I are at a Pampered Chef party. I am sure he will be working all day Sunday as well. He is helping a friend with a project similar to Habitat for Humanity on Saturday.
This is the fleece that will be the inspiration to the new decor for Frances' room. I am going to make a comforter size blanket with it. She has solid black sheets and a bedskirt so far. If anyone has any great "vision", let me know! I am not a big decorator but feel like she deserves to have her room done. She picked this out and being that she has been a cat at some point in every day for the last two years it is fitting!

Bad mommy!

This morning Frances was goofing off when I was trying to get her dressed to go to the gym. I was getting frustrated and said "dangit girl" (I know, shame on me:() Frances then says "My names not dangit, I'm Frances Fehr". What a smarty pants!

Snowman fun!

Here is the snowman Frances and I made today. It was great snow for making snowmen but we cleaned out the yard where we rolled our snow! Frances said her mouth was cold and didn't want to smile for the picture! She thought a banana would make a great smile. Personally, I think it makes our snowman look like he needs a toothbrush! Nonetheless, we had a fun time outside together and then enjoyed hot chocolate with marshmallows by the fire after!

Pictures of baby #2 aka "Charlie"

We had our midway ultrasound on Friday. I am 22 weeks tomorrow (Wednesday). More than halfway there! We did not want to know the gender and they did a good job of keeping it from us. Here are some pictures to spark your interest though:) Everything looked fine and healthy. We are set to have a baby before the 4th of July and they predict another small baby!

Well, there he/she is from the inside and out! My belly button has popped out so I often tell little kids that is the baby's nose. I love the looks I get! Most days I don't feel too big yet but it will come! Especially since I get to experience late pregnancy in the summertime!

What a full weekend!

Well, another full weekend has pretty much come and gone! On Wednesday night we went and purchased the tile and supplies needed to finish that part of the bathroom project. On Friday night I headed over to my friend Dionne's house to pass Frances on to her mother for the weekend. This was Frances' first weekend away from us with someone other than family (and even that has only happened once)! I had the pleasure of seeing my dear friends for the evening while we visited and scrapbooked. It was supposed to be a big sleep over for us big girls but I have been fighting a terrible cold all week and needed to call it a night at 10:00 and go home to bed. I was up at 5:30 and headed towards Cincinatti for a full day of Usborne training and motivation. I had a great time and can't wait to earn the current trip promotion! I am going to Rome in April '09! I made it back to Dionne's house by 8:00 Saturday night and back to my girls! We stayed up until 4:00 am! At least Lisa and I did! Mitch was home all day working on the bathroom floor. I sure hope he relaxed in there some but I am not sure. I then got up at 8:30, came home and got ready for church and off I went with Mitch. After church I brought Mitch home and back I went until 3:30. What a weekend! Mitch headed off to the boat show with another guy. Frances is just now on her way here. I was told she has fallen asleep in the car:) I expect her in about fifteen minutes and I have not yet taken a nap. I kind of figured I wouldn't, I definitely did not get my mother's napping gene! I am tired but feeling much better than last week. I had a great weekend with my girlfriends and am looking forward to seeing my daughter again (I just hope she is happy to be back home). Here is a picture of the bathroom thus far. The floor still needs grout but the tile is set! Yippee!

Bathroom update

Well, there was some progress last week but it was difficult to notice in pictures therefore I didn't update you. Mitch has been hard at work using any free time he can find. The things that are now completed include:

  • all the cement board has been installed (this is required when using tile)

  • The closet doorway has been framed and is ready for the door that is in the garage.

  • The seat in the shower has been built

  • The floor pan in the shower has been created (thanks Gary!)

  • The cracks in the floor and shower have been grouted.

  • The heating system for my floor (smile) has been laid and electrically installed!
There is probably more but I am not aware of it all. We need to get our tile picked out and purchased yet this week as Mitch and Gary are planning to do the tiling this weekend. They should have ample time as Frances and I will both be gone and Gary is spending the weekend here!

This is a picture of my shower seat (behind the toilet). the toilet will be moved back to its rightful place soon!

From swimming lessons to stormy weather

Frances and her friend Brayden had their first swimming lesson yesterday. They will be going once a week for 30 minutes.

Frances is a fish and absolutely loves to be in the water! It was a little different for her to have to follow directions and have some structure to her swimming but it is good for her:) She did awesome for her first time! Brayden's mom and I got to watch through a glass window. The best part was when Frances appeared to be plugging her ears (I know, most kids plug their noses). Frances did not want to listen to the instructor. Thank goodness she couldn't see me because it was hard not to smile at her obstinence:) Where does she get it?

NOW THE STORMY WEATHER...

Last night at about 3 am. Frances woke up and got sick. This is the first time she has ever had the stomach flu so we are pretty lucky. At the same time as she began to rumble so did the sky. We had quite the thunderstorm last night! Luckily once Frances was cleaned up she went back to sleep until 6:30 when Mitch was getting ready for work. The storm was so bad that all of our patio furniture blew over and most of it is in the yard. I thought for sure that our bedroom window was going to blow in and that I could hear shingles flying off the roof. The sump pump has been running all day and it is raining again now. At least the lake has water again right?

About Frances...she continued to be sick all morning but has done a great job of letting me know when it is coming. We made her a big "kitty bed" with the cushion from a papazan chair and covered it with a blanket. I have hung on to this cusion for almost six years as the chair broke but I just knew the cusion would have some use! She has loved the way I allowed her to watch movies all day and I fear she will want to be sick more often. Not only has she laid around and watched tv but I have been giving her "pop" (sprite). She won't really eat for me. Got a few pretzels in but nothing else and they didn't stay. Hope no one else gets it! Mitch has a birthday this weekend and that would not be fun for him!
