Picnic fun!

We were able to attend the company picnic this past weekend for Mitch's work. It is always a big event with lots of activities for the kids. They bring in numerous inflatable items such as a slide, caterpillar, and bounce house. They usually have carnival type games with little prizes but that was omitted this year for some reason. Mitch got suckered into playing in the corn hole tournament (bean bag toss for adults). He didn't win but I think he gained a new appreciation for the game. He said it is definitely harder than it looks. Frances and Mitch went down the slide once. It was kind of disapointing as it didn't have any "slide" to it. Instead you had to kind of bounce to move. They sprayed it with pledge but it only worked for a couple of times. Needless to say, Frances only went once. It was an easy 90 degrees outside and the slide was in the sun too. She thought the bounce house was too hot and didn't want to go in. For the most part, she just really wanted to play at the park playground and that was shaded so there were no complaints from mom. The only problem we had was that the snowcones were far enough away that Frances needed to come with when I got my refills. I only had three during the four hours we were there:) We also watched a little show put on by "silly safari's". They had some neat animals and Frances seemed to enjoy watching.

What a great picnic! It's so nice Mitch's work does something for their families like that. I don't think we've ever been to one event for Doug's...
